Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist who currently competes with the UFC flyweight division. Shevchenko is the younger sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champ and fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports began with her debut as an Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller on a unanimous vote. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007, a medal of bronze in 2008 and she won a gold medal in the year 2011. Then she won the title of IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champions in 2016. Antonia started her professional career in 2003. She was the winner of an award at the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and then the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's final bout took place at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She took the fight by unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko made the professional MMA record in 2002 during the KFK cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She won through TKO after the first round and went on to win her next two fights at the WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. This gave her three wins in her MMA career. Shevchenko stopped her involvement in MMA in order to concentrate on the kickboxing. She made her return with a win against Anissa Haddaoui on Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa through a unanimous decision, and the next day, she defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She left the Phoenix FC 4 promotion in 2018 to join Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's improved strike technique enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Antonina's UFC contract was renewed following this victory. Antonina made her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Kim by unanimous decision, but she lost her following fight against Roxanne Modafferi with a split decision. Antonina bounced back from losing to knock out Lucie Pudilova in the rear with a choking submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the bonus fight of the night in this match. Shevchenko lost 1-2 in her next 3-fights, losing to Ariane Lipski before falling to Katlyn Chookagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
