Selena
She was a singer, performer and designer who broke through the barriers of the world of music. She was at once traditional and modern a Mexican-American star who bound together both realms of music in an unison way. And she brought incredible Tejano music to a mainstream public. Her untimely death splintered her growing popularity and, like many times the moment a brilliant, warm singer dies too young, it has left many mourning every potential that was not fully realized. Since then, her fans have been working more to not forget what she has achieved. The death of Selena triggered emotion in Latino community that is likened with Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Selena was a wildly popular Latino artist across North America. Her music transcended the boundaries of culture and inspired both young people and older adults. Selena was a hot and flamboyant stage performer who was sometimes known as the Latina Madonna. On stage, Selena was an excellent role model since she was active in anti-drug and AIDS campaigns.
